Seaside Escape: 1 block to Beach, Private Hot Tub, Fire Pit & BBQ

Great location, 1 block from the beach with a lovely view of same. Nothing like fresh sea air for a reviving getaway. And the bed was really comfortable, which is saying something because I am picky .1/2 block to one great restaurant. A nice mile long walk to another, and plenty in the area.

A lovely, roomy, clean, relaxing, comfortable place with wonderful beach, jacuzzi, private yard. Positive: Wonderful location close to the beach, great beach walks (on sand and paved walkway). Easy access to Hwy to get to other places. Lovely, modern, stylish furnishings, love the floor to ceiling windows in kitchen/dining - like a tree house., great hot tub- good temperature, good shower/tub- good pressure/temperature. Nice bed linens and comfy big bed/pillows. Full refrigerator freezer, & basic, nice kitchen/dining supplies, designated parking spot, private backyard with picnic table, grill/jacuzzi, nice to have access to laundry, comfy living room, couch comfy & long enough for sleeping, nice big TV & access to channels, air purifiers & fans helped. Lovely cool weather was appreciated (coming from Arizona), and no bugs! or very few at least. Access to host by phone and prompt, helpful response. Negative: Location behind restaurant meant lights on all night, so had to pull down bedroom shades all the way, eliminating much of the ocean breeze and wave sounds. (Altho there are smaller windows on bedroom side wall, which we kept open for the breeze and could hear some ocean). Also, being behind restaurant meant some early morning sounds of trucks unloading. No windows in Kitchen, dining or living room, so had to leave front door open to get fresh air in main living area (thank goodness no bugs, except the occasional fly). Also, since no blinds/curtains on kitchen dining floor-ceiling windows, it made me wonder about privacy (next door neighbors can see in). A lot of noise from other unit that had kids (lots of running around mostly) and annoying squeaking sound when the dryer was used in the other unit. Not enough lighting in the kitchen/cooking area, even with the remote ceiling light. The overhead light on stove didn't work either. We used the emergency lanterns to help when cooking.

The smell is a but more potent than i thought it would be. It was a little hard to sleep, but by day 2 i started to get used to it, but its a tough, Very chemically smell, like one that will give you a bad headache.. We kept outside biking most of the time, and other than that smell, place was wonderful, very clean and much bigger and cozier than I was even thinking.l. Location was perfect too. Other than the smell, it was really a great place to stay.

Disappointed, we were looking forward to staying here. Negative: The apartment is comfortable, has a great view and proximity to the ocean, and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately, the odor that was disclosed ("subtle," "mild," and "natural") was materially different from the overwhelming petroleum/chemical odor actually encountered, which caused both occupants to experience burning throats and a metallic taste despite opening all windows, and running the ventilation and air purifiers for an hour. We canceled the reservation and sought lodging elsewhere.

The location was great! Having a hot tub to warm up in after swimming in the cold Pacific was nice. We loved the big bed!The kitchen could use a cutting board and the kitchen sink faucet was leaking.We spoke to the host about issues around the hot tub.Overall we enjoyed our stay.
